Mrs. Richardson was named principal at Mary H. Matula Elementary School in 2013. Prior to serving as principal at Matula, she was principal at Gale-Bailey Elementary School for 11 years. During her career with Charles County Public Schools, Richardson has also served as a vice principal at three county elementary schools – Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer, Walter J. Mitchell and J.C. Parks.

She began her career with the school system in 1988 as a teacher at Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School. She served as a kindergarten teacher at Mudd until 1996, when she was appointed as vice principal at Jenifer. Richardson spent three years at Jenifer, and transferred to Mitchell in 1998 where she was vice principal until 2001. During the 2001-2002 school year, she served as vice principal at Parks and was named principal at Gale-Bailey in 2002.
